Agedness Wears Patina

The peeling of old factory billboards reveals reds, blues, dirty whites and a geometry that I have never seen before. Forms emerge, building a relationship for all to come together in time and space.

I am interested in the transitory nature of life revealing the presence of images and symbols we cannot easily see, and how these things can generate content.

After an extended period of experimentation with different materials I returned to the encaustic technique that allows me:

To build and balance all the elements into a harmonious whole.

To deal between fact and fiction, the known and unknown.

To explore the harmony and grace of forms and what is behind them.

To create mystery in various arrangements but also clarity of meaning.

To create wholeness, and room for the viewer to wander.

In the moment of each image, and in the image of each moment, everything comes together and somehow it all makes sense.
